Who doesn't know him, our good and fluffy neighbour Totoro. He's a friendly giant that loves to hang out and relax all day. Now you can make him too!
This version of Totoro is a lot smaller and perfect for a last-minute gift for friends, loved ones and for craft fairs.
This pattern doesn't require any particular yarn at all. Be creative and use whichever yarn and colour you prefer. I've tested this pattern with regular cotton, mercirised cotton and alpaca wool. Wool gives it more of a rustic look and cotton more of a cartoon look.
Totoro can be made in less than one hour depending on your crochet speed with a small amount of yarn, stuffing and supplies.
For this Totoro amigurumi pattern I've designed two versions with just one major difference - the eyes. Version one will have larger eyes that make Totoro chubby!
Version two requires you to skip the step of crocheting the white eye pieces and you just insert the safety eyes in the crocheted body.
Whichever version you choose, they'll both look extremely cute. You'll end up with a bunch of amigurumi Totoro and won't lay down your crochet hook soon.
